Durngate Complete £6 Million Development

Winchester-based Durngate Property Group is celebrating the completion of its latest £6 million office development. The state-of-the-art 32,000 sq ft Yeoman Gate scheme has already received a vast amount of interest from businesses. Nine out of its 13 units have already been sold or reserved. Companies that have purchased units include regional accountants Spofforths, land acquisition specialist and housing developer R W Hilder & Co, Passive Investments Limited and West Sussex-based MJH Executive Homes.

Nic Evans, of Durngate Property Group, said: “I am delighted that the construction element of the development has been completed to schedule and we are looking forward to the official launch event in February.”

The buildings, which range from 1,550 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft, are two-storey and fully self-contained with the benefit of allocated car parking.

The site is situated to the west of Worthing town centre close to the A27 east/west trunk road and benefits from public transport links including a mainline railway station Nic added: “We have had a fantastic response to Yeoman Gate. The development is one of the most significant in Worthing in the last 20 years and as such the demand has been high. These modern, purpose-built offices are ideal for both regional and local businesses which are looking to relocate.”

The development, designed by Architects Broadway Malyan, provides a contemporary office courtyard incorporating traditional materials. Durngate Property Group has already completed similar projects in Havant, where 17 out of 21 units have successfully sold or are under offer, and in Farnham which has already achieved 50% occupancy. In addition Durngate, in partnership with Shepherd Developments, has recently acquired the former Johnson and Johnson site off junction 12 of the M27 at Portsmouth for the development of a 125,000 sq ft office scheme. A planning application has already been submitted.

Durngate is currently involved with a host of other projects too, including the acquisition of a site at Crossways Business Park in Dartford for the development of a 100,000 sq ft office scheme and a mixed-use retail and industrial development in West Bromwich in the West Midlands.
