Thu 13th Oct 2005/ID39 Media ReleaseFamily firm Leaves Builders has become the latest occupants at the new Endeavour Business Park in Penner Road, Havant. The firm, previously based in Waterlooville, has acquired the freehold on a 2,679 sq ft industrial unit at the business park, which was developed by the Winchester-based Durngate Property Group. Leaves began more than 50 years ago but in 1993, uncle and nephew, Tony and Antony Leaves set up Leaves Builders Ltd from the dining room of a house in Waterlooville later progressing to a shed in the garden. After working from home for more than 20 years, in 2002, the company decided to buy a small shop with a flat above in Waterlooville. Within three and a half years, they had outgrown the shop and decided they all needed to be under one roof with storage, deliveries, offices and parking. After putting the shop up for sale, they started looking around for other premises and found unit B3 at Endeavour. Tony Leaves said: “To say moving a business is stressful is an understatement but we are thrilled now to be in and working in our superb new surroundings. The unit is absolutely ideal for our purposes as we have space, ample parking and a much better working environment.” Suzanne Ivers, senior surveyor at agents Vail Williams, said: “There is only one remaining industrial unit left at Endeavour, which is under offer. This shows that there is still a high demand for good quality freeholds. Potential occupiers need not be disappointed, as construction for similar type units in Phase 2 is due to commence shortly. I wish Leaves Builders all the best for the future”. Nic Evans of Durngate Property Group said: “Freehold units in this area are in short supply and great demand, but they do offer local businesses a chance to own their premises and have the benefit of a capital asset at the end of the day. Leaves Builders are a very good example of an expanding local company for whom such premises are tailored”. “Mindful of this tremendous demand for freehold units and their popularity in the Hampshire/Surrey area, we have already started work on a similar development at the Coxbridge Business Park in Farnham, where the units will be ready next March.” The other joint letting agent for the freehold acquisition was Charlie Chappell of Hellier Langston.
